Overview of the Department: The Department of Business Administration is one of the pioneering departments established at the Faculty of Economics, University of Derna, in 1992. It is a discipline that is indispensable in all types of organizations, both commercial and non-commercial, governmental and private, for-profit and non-profit. As a result, the demand for graduates in this field is rapidly increasing, which has granted the profession of management a distinguished status and significance in all societies. Specialized studies have been dedicated to it, and scientific and professional bodies have been formed to monitor developments, qualify their members, and work on enhancing their competencies and developing their skills in light of global advancements.

To achieve academic and research excellence at the local and regional levels in the field of business administration

To develop the educational process in administrative sciences in a way that equips students of the department with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance the administrative landscape in Libya and elevate it to meet modern demands. This is based on international standards, Libyan social values and ethics, and a high spirit of competitiveness. The mission also includes enhancing the effectiveness of faculty members in scientific research and contributing to the development of Libyan society

• Monitor the department’s performance to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, aiming to graduate well-educated and knowledgeable professionals, and enhance coordination with relevant entities. • Establish partnerships and cooperation with labor market institutions to ensure alignment of curricula and academic programs with labor market needs, and equip students with necessary skills. • Conduct scientific research and studies in administrative fields and link them to the reality of Libyan organizations with the aim of providing consultations and solving administrative problems. • Develop postgraduate programs in management to prepare qualified faculty members capable of advancing the educational process in line with contemporary requirements. • Activate the department’s role in raising awareness of the nature and importance of management and administrative work among individuals and various organizations through organizing and participating in conferences, seminars, and scientific studies to support the desired administrative renaissance.

High school diploma with a minimum GPA of 75%, passing the personal interview, passing written tests if any, submitting all required documents within specified deadlines.
