The Department of English at the University of Derna offers an integrated program that focuses on developing linguistic, literary, and analytical skills, preparing students for diverse fields such as teaching, translation, academic research, and other professional fields.
Main Academic Content:
1. English Language Skills:
- Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
- Grammar, Vocabulary, and Phonetics.
2. English Literature:
- Ancient and modern literature (including poetry, theater, and the novel).
3. Linguistics and Critical Studies:
- General linguistics, textual analysis, and literary criticism methods.
4. Translation and practical applications:
- Translation & Interpretation.
- Academic & Creative Writing.
5. English-Speaking Culture and Civilization:
- British and American History, Popular Culture, and Comparative Studies.
