The University of Derna, represented by the Department of Sociology in the College of Arts, is keen to localize graduate studies domestically, advance and develop the educational process, and harness all its capabilities to advance it, in an effort to catch up with model universities.
Since sociology had the upper hand in solving problems and adapting to the changes that resulted from the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution, and contemporary issues that hinder the progress of societies, it even became an important tool in issues of war and peace through its important materials represented in sustainable social development, political sociology and the sociology of war.
