Department of Mathematics

Requirements for the Preliminary stage and the department : (140 Units) .

The department looks forward to offering distinguished academic programs in mathematics that are relevant to the needs of the job market and contribute to the localization and development of technology, in addition to keeping pace with global scientific advancements. The department also strives to grant students a high-quality academic education that enables them, upon graduation, to meet the requirements of the job market or enroll in postgraduate programs. Furthermore, it seeks to contribute to the development of scientific research and its application in serving the community.

The Mathematics Department is considered a fundamental pillar of the Faculty of Science. Therefore, its science is the main foundation for all sciences, as no science can stand alone without mathematics. It serves as the language of communication in the world and relies on rules and theories to solve various exercises, especially those requiring proofs when dealing with numbers. Furthermore, it is characterized by the use of logic, and thus

1. Developing distinguished academic programs that keep pace with modern developments in mathematical sciences. 2. Considering the needs of the job market when designing academic programs by offering diverse specializations within the department (Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Applied Statistics) and giving special importance to mathematical applications that qualify graduates to work in companies and research centers. 3. Keeping abreast of modern developments in mathematical sciences by adopting updated courses that align with the continuous evolution of these sciences. 4. Organizing training courses in applied mathematics (such as statistics) that align with the needs of the community, as well as qualification and consulting courses.

High school diploma with a minimum GPA of 75%, passing the personal interview, passing written tests if any, submitting all required documents within specified deadlines.
