The Department of Urban Design was established in 2005/2006 as part of the collage developing and extensions. The department is considered a branch of Urban Planning and is balanced in specialization between Urban Planning and Architectural Design. So it was an important branch to serve the need of the city and its ambitious to develop the roads, the open spaces and much more urban planning and design issues
