The department aspires to develop highly specialized economic professionals who are well-qualified to enter the field of economics with effectiveness and competence. It focuses on equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to meet career challenges and adapt to potential changes across various economic fields. This is achieved through the provision of educational programs that emphasize economic aspects and align with labor market needs, enabling students to acquire a wide range of knowledge and skills. To obtain the Bachelor's degree in Economics, students must successfully complete 45 compulsory courses as part of a four-year academic program (eight regular semesters)
The Department of Economics at the University of Derna aspires to be the leading economics department at the local and regional levels. It aims to advance knowledge in the various fields and branches of economics, and to contribute to the development of specialized academic professionals capable of creative thinking, scientific analysis, and logical reasoning. These professionals should be able to diagnose and address economic problems and crises on local, regional, and international levels
