Goals
• To qualify national elements scientifically. • To identify the elements of the human, natural,... , and urban environment.
• To understand population distribution and the factors influencing it, economic resources and related activities, as well as the political structure of the state internally and externally.
• To develop strategies and programs for development and economic, urban, and environmental planning, as well as programs for the development and planning of different regions and territories.
• To prepare plans and programs that link academic departments in universities with the local environment, in order to create a kind of interaction between the natural and human components of society, represented in economic activities and the movement and relationship of the population with other societies.
• To train students in dealing with modern geographical technologies, focusing on the applied aspects of geography, and employing these modern technologies in presenting and processing geographical information, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital maps, remote sensing, aerial photographs, and surveying, and to teach students how to conduct field surveys of the geographical environment.
• To provide students with the latest advancements in geographical knowledge and employ modern technologies.
• To contribute to the geographical scientific movement locally, regionally, and internationally through scientific research, holding seminars, conferences, specialized workshops, strengthening ties with institutions, and exchanging experiences with counterpart departments.
