About the Department

The Department of Criminal Law was established in the 1992-1993 academic year. It offers ten courses, comprising 24 credit hours. The department employs a number of permanent faculty members

Vision

The department seeks to develop curricula objectively by developing the vocabulary of academic... es and proposing the addition of academic courses in accordance with the available frameworks and the relevant regulations and laws, which is necessary to keep pace with the development taking place in legislation. The department adopts a lecture-based approach followed by midterm and final examinations, which is the usual method in Arab and foreign law schools in general. The student's commitment to attending lectures and participating in enriching them with discussion is taken into consideration whenever the opportunity arises. Read more

Mission

Contributing to the development of specialized cadres in legal sciences who preserve the status of... ustice and work to consolidate the rule of law by providing legal knowledge in a conscious manner based on a correct understanding and interpretation of the legal rule, emphasizing the supremacy of the law and consolidating the value of justice. Goals

Given the high standing enjoyed by the College of Law's graduates, most of whom work in fields that... promote justice and ensure rights, the department's program aims to: 1. Prepare legally competent individuals who contribute to the advancement and development of society. 2. Develop students' personal capabilities in a competitive environment aimed at raising the level of academic achievement in the legal field. 3. Encouraging faculty members and students to engage in scientific research, seeking to overcome the difficulties they face, and establishing the importance and feasibility of scientific research in the legal field. Additionally, studying legal problems through research and studies in the legal field. 4. Training students on the practical level through exercises that address practical cases to advance their level and connect the theoretical aspects of their studies with the practical aspects. 5. Work to develop legal thought, including its ability to analyze, infer, compare, and critique, in service of societal issues. 6. Encourage the department's faculty members and students to participate in legal conferences, seminars, and academic forums at home and abroad. 7. Promote the success of the graduate program in private law at home and seek to develop it with available resources. Read more
