About the Department

The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the academic departments that was affiliated with the Faculty of Education. In the academic year (2024-2025), it joined the Faculty of Arts.

Vision

To foster Islamic studies and their sciences in the areas of rooting and deduction, to cultivate an... Islamic identity belonging to its religion, and nation distinguished by a deep understanding of Islam, characterized by moderation and balance, combining authenticity and modernity, comprehending the objectives of Islamic Sharia, and to prepare and provide specialized scientific competencies that meet the needs of contemporary Islamic society at home and abroad, in the fields of thought, legislation, judiciary, economics, teaching, Da'wah (invitation to Islam), guidance, and social reform, and to realize the scientific heritage, in completion of the university's mission to serve the Islamic nation. The bachelor's program aims to produce scientific outputs according to comprehensive quality... ds in the fields of education and research, and to qualify distinguished specialists in the Sharia field scientifically, behaviorally, and intellectually, enabling them to play an active role in serving the community in theoretical and scientific Sharia fields, reflecting the true image of Islam. Goals

The program seeks to achieve a set of scientific, reformative, and developmental objectives through... the completion of the bachelor's stage, the most important of which are: 1. To guide students' attention to the in-depth study of terms and their review in order to employ them correctly in reasoning, problem-solving, activating Ijtihad (independent reasoning), and rationalizing renewal. 2. To equip students with an increased development of the scientific spirit through precise analysis and insightful criticism. 3. To develop students' abilities, especially in scientific communication with others through lectures. 4. To qualify highly competent teachers in teaching Islamic sciences in order to meet the community's needs for scientific frameworks in the fields of Islamic sciences. 5. To qualify religiously sound youth and provide them with the largest amount of Sharia sciences of all kinds to enable them to carry out the tasks of teaching, giving sermons, and leading prayers. 6. To graduate qualified individuals with high competence in the field of Islamic studies so that they have the required ability to pursue their higher studies. Read more
